Alan Walker Remission Order

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that the collection of the tax and the enforcement of the penalties are unjust, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Revenue, pursuant to subsection 23(2)^{footnote a} of the Financial Administration Act ^{footnote b}, remits to Alan Walker the following amounts paid or payable under Part I of the Income Tax Act ^{footnote c}:

• (a) tax in the amounts of $789.86, $1,045.23, $1,129.51, $7,967.32 and $682.19 for the 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 taxation years, respectively;
• (b) late-filing penalties in the amounts of $134.28, $177.69, $192.02, $1,341.97 and $115.97 for the 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 taxation years, respectively; and
• (c) all relevant interest on those taxes and penalties.

This Order remits income tax in the amounts of $789.86, $1,045.23, $1,129.51, $7,967.32, and $682.19 for the 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 taxation years, respectively, the late-filing penalties of $134.28, $177.69, $192.02, $1,341.97, and $115.97 for the 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 taxation years, respectively, and all relevant interest on these amounts, paid or payable by Alan Walker.

The amount remitted represents the additional tax incurred by Mr. Walker as a result of circumstances that were not within his control. The collection of the tax and the enforcement of the penalties are unjust.
