APPLICATION TO ESTABLISH A CANADIAN BRANCH

Notice is hereby given that Arch Reinsurance Company, an entity domiciled under the laws of Delaware, United States of America, intends to file with the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, on or after September 22, 2014, an application under section 574 of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada) for an order approving the insuring in Canada risks, allowing it to conduct in Canada property and casualty reinsurance business, under the English name Arch Reinsurance Company and the French name Compagnie de réassurance Arch. In particular, Arch Reinsurance Company intends to provide in Canada treaty and facultative reinsurance of commercial and personal property and casualty coverage, including all risks property insurance, commercial and personal general liability insurance, management liability insurance, professional liability insurance, marine and aviation insurance, automobile insurance, accident and sickness insurance, crop and hail insurance, fidelity insurance, environmental liability insurance, surety insurance, political risk and credit insurance, credit protection insurance, legal expenses insurance, boiler and machinery insurance, and energy insurance. The head office of Arch Reinsurance Company is located in Morristown, New Jersey, and its Canadian chief agency will be located in Toronto, Ontario. This notice amends the domicile of Arch Reinsurance Company contained within the original published notice from Nebraska to Delaware, as well as the “on or after date” from August 20, 2013, to September 22, 2014.

APPLICATION TO ESTABLISH A FOREIGN BANK BRANCH

Notice is hereby given pursuant to subsection 525(2) of the Bank Act that The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., a foreign bank with its head office in Tokyo, Japan, that is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc., intends to apply to the Minister of Finance of Canada for an order permitting it to establish a branch in Canada to carry on the business of banking. The branch will carry on business under the name The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., and its principal office will be located in Toronto, Ontario.

Any person who objects to the proposed order may submit an objection in writing to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, 255 Albert Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0H2 on or before November 3, 2014.

The publication of this notice must not be construed as evidence that an order will be issued to establish the foreign bank branch. The granting of the order will be dependent upon the normal Bank Act application review process and the discretion of the Minister of Finance.

ASSUMPTION REINSURANCE AGREEMENT

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to section 587.1 of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada), that State Farm International Life Insurance Company Ltd. (“SFIL”) intends to make an application to the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (Canada) [the “Superintendent”], on or after October 21, 2014, for the Superintendent's approval to cause itself to be reinsured, on an assumption basis, against all risks undertaken by SFIL's Canadian branch in respect of its policies in Canada, by Desjardins Financial Security Life Assurance Company.

A copy of the assumption reinsurance agreement relating to this transaction and the report of the independent actuary pertaining to such assumption reinsurance agreement will be available for inspection by the policyholders of SFIL during regular business hours at the Chief Agency of the Canadian branch of SFIL (the “Chief Agency”) located at 333 First Commerce Drive, Aurora, Ontario L4G 8A4 for a period of 30 days following publication of this notice.

Any policyholder who wishes to obtain a copy of the assumption reinsurance agreement and a copy of the report of the independent actuary may do so by writing to the Chief Agency at the above-noted address.
