ASSUMPTION REINSURANCE AGREEMENT
Notice is hereby given, pursuant to paragraph 254(2.01)(a) of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada), that RBC Life Insurance Company (“RBC Life”) intends to make an application to the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (Canada), on or after October 7, 2014, for approval to cause itself to be reinsured, on an assumption basis, by Co-operators Life Insurance Company, against all risks undertaken by RBC Life in respect of RBC Life's individual disability insurance policies (including embedded accidental death and dismemberment benefits) and individual critical illness insurance policies in each case distributed by The Edge Benefits Inc. (“The Edge”), but provided that all claims incurred before the completion of the transaction will continue to be the sole responsibility of RBC Life. All policies will continue to be administered by The Edge.
A copy of the proposed assumption reinsurance agreement will be available for inspection by the policyholders of RBC Life at RBC Life's head office located at 6880 Financial Drive, Tower 1, Third Floor, Mississauga, Ontario L5N 7Y5, during regular business hours, for a period of 30 days following publication of this notice.
A copy of the proposed assumption reinsurance agreement will be provided to a policyholder upon written request.
