A PROCLAMATION
Whereas section 74 of the Canada Oil and Gas Operations Act, chapter O-7 of the Revised Statutes of Canada, 1985, provides that sections 39 to 47 of that Act shall come into force on a day to be fixed by proclamation;
Whereas it is expedient that sections 39 to 47 of that Act come into force on July 31, 2010;
And whereas, by Order in Council P.C. 2010-779 of June 17, 2010, the Governor in Council directed that a proclamation do issue fixing July 31, 2010 as the day on which sections 39 to 47 of that Act come into force;
Now know you that We, by and with the advice of Our Privy Council for Canada, do by this Our Proclamation fix July 31, 2010 as the day on which sections 39 to 47 of the Canada Oil and Gas Operations Act come into force.
OF ALL WHICH Our loving subjects and all others whom these presents may concern are hereby required to take notice and to govern themselves accordingly.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, We have caused this Our Proclamation to be published and the Great Seal of Canada to be hereunto affixed. WITNESS: The Honourable Marshall E. Rothstein, a Puisne Judge of the Supreme Court of Canada and Deputy of Our Right Trusty and Well-beloved Michaëlle Jean, Chancellor and Principal Companion of Our Order of Canada, Chancellor and Commander of Our Order of Military Merit, Chancellor and Commander of Our Order of Merit of the Police Forces, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada.
