SEX OFFENDER INFORMATION REGISTRATION ACT

Regulations Amending the Manitoba Sex Offender Information Registration Regulations

The Lieutenant Governor in Council of Manitoba, pursuant to subsection 18(1) of the Sex Offender Information Registration Act, S.C. 2004, c. 10, makes the attached Regulations Amending the Manitoba Sex Offender Information Registration Regulations.

REGULATIONS AMENDING THE MANITOBA SEX OFFENDER INFORMATION REGISTRATION REGULATIONS

AMENDMENT

1. Item 2 of the schedule to the Manitoba Sex Offender Information Registration Regulations (see footnote 1) is amended by adding the following in alphabetical order under the heading “Designated Place”:

2. These Regulations come into force on the day on which they are registered.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)

Under the Sex Offender Information Registration Act, sex offenders must report to a designated registration centre and provide information to a person who is authorized to collect information from sex offenders.

These Regulations amend the regulations that designate registration centres in Manitoba. The RCMP detachments in Berens River, Bloodvein, Nelson House and Poplar River are added as designated registration centres.
