The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (the Tribunal) has received complaints (File Nos. PR-2007-080 to PR-2007-083) from NETGEAR, Inc. (Netgear), of Santa Clara, California, U.S.A., concerning procurements (Solicitation Nos. EN869-060331/J [RVD157], EN869-060331/V [RVD165], EN869-060331/U [RVD166] and EN869-060331/W [RVD174]) by the Department of Public Works and Government Services (PWGSC). The solicitations are for networking equipment. Pursuant to subsection 30.13(2) of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Act and subsection 7(2) of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Procurement Inquiry Regulations, notice is hereby given that the Tribunal has decided to conduct an inquiry into the complaints.

Netgear alleges that PWGSC improperly conducted the above-noted solicitations.

Leasing or rental of facilities

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (the Tribunal) has received a complaint (File No. PR-2007-079) from Immeubles Yvan Dumais Inc., of Baie-Comeau, Quebec, concerning a procurement (Solicitation No. 5224-529468) by the Department of Public Works and Government Services. The solicitation is for the leasing of office space. Pursuant to subsection 30.13(2) of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Act and subsection 7(2) of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Procurement Inquiry Regulations, notice is hereby given that the Tribunal has decided to conduct an inquiry into the complaint.

Immeubles Yvan Dumais Inc. alleges that its proposal was improperly evaluated and that it was misled by information that it was given.

PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION

PUBLIC SERVICE EMPLOYMENT ACT

Permission and leave granted

The Public Service Commission of Canada, pursuant to section 116 of the Public Service Employment Act, hereby gives notice that it has granted permission, pursuant to subsection 114(4) of the said Act, to Michael Embaie, Tribunal Officer (PM-05), Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, Calgary, Alberta, to allow him to seek nomination as a candidate before and during the election period, and to be a candidate before the election period in the next provincial election for the electoral district of Calgary-Montrose, Alberta. In the event that Mr. Embaie was successful in being nominated to represent his party as a candidate for the electoral district of Calgary-Montrose, he would be on leave of absence without pay pursuant to subsection 114(7) of that Act, to be a candidate before the election period. This leave without pay began on January 30, 2008.

The Public Service Commission of Canada, pursuant to subsection 114(5) of that Act, also grants a leave without pay during the election period effective close of business on the first day of the election period to allow him to be a candidate during this election.
