Order Amending the FIFA Men's U-20 World Cup Canada 2007 Remission Order

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to section 115 (see footnote a) of the Customs Tariff (see footnote b), hereby makes the annexed Order Amending the FIFA Men's U-20 World Cup Canada 2007 Remission Order.
ORDER AMENDING THE FIFA MEN'S U-20
WORLD CUP CANADA 2007
REMISSION ORDER
AMENDMENT
1. The definition "membre de la famille de la Coupe du monde U-20" in section 1 of the French version of the FIFA Men's U-20 World Cup Canada 2007 Remission Order (see footnote 1)is replaced by the following:
« membre de la famille de la Coupe du monde U-20 » Tout particulier ne résidant pas habituellement au Canada :
a) qui participe à la Coupe du monde U-20 à titre de concurrent, d'entraîneur, d'officiel d'équipe, de membre du personnel de soutien ou d'officiel technique;
b) qui est titulaire d'une accréditation délivrée par l'ACS et approuvée par la FIFA et qui est membre de celle-ci. (U-20 World Cup family member)

2. This Order comes into force on the day on which it is registered.

Description
The Order Amending the FIFA Men's U-20 World Cup Canada 2007 Remission Order corrects a technical error identified by the Standing Joint Committee for the Scrutiny of Regulations. The amendment consists of aligning the English and French versions of a provision of the Order.
Alternatives
No alternatives were considered. Amending the FIFA Men's U-20 World Cup Canada 2007 Remission Order using the authority under section 115 of the Customs Tariff is the appropriate method of implementing the necessary correction.
Consultation
As the amendment is strictly technical, no consultations were undertaken.
Compliance and enforcement
The Canada Border Services Agency is responsible for the administration of customs and tariff legislation and related regulations.
