BUDGET IMPLEMENTATION ACT, 2005

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to subsection 109(1) of the Budget Implementation Act, 2005, assented to on June 29, 2005, being chapter 30 of the Statutes of Canada, 2005, hereby fixes September 1, 2005, as the day on which Part 15 of that Act comes into force, other than sections 101 to 103 and 108, which were deemed to have come into force on February 23, 2005.
EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Order fixes September 1, 2005 as the day on which Part 15 of the Budget Implementation Act, 2005 comes into force, other than sections 101 to 103 and 108, which were deemed to have come into force on February 23, 2005.
That Part amends the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation Act. The amendments repeal the authority of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation to make by-laws respecting standards of sound business and financial practices for member institutions and provide that the deposits of a federal institution shall automatically be insured by the Corporation.
