Karen Fraser and Ian Schofield Remission Order

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that it is in the public interest to do so, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Revenue, pursuant to subsection 23(2)

(see footnote a)  of the Financial Administration Act, hereby remits to Karen Fraser and Ian Schofield the amount of $7,531.60, representing a rebate of tax paid under Part IX of the Excise Tax Act in respect of the construction of a residential unit.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order remits $7,531.60 of the goods and services tax (GST), representing a rebate to which Karen Fraser and Ian Schofield became disentitled as a result of failing to apply for the rebate in a timely manner owing to circumstances beyond their control.
