Order Fixing June 21, 2002 as the Date of the Coming into Force of Certain Sections of the Canadian Payments Act

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to section 593 of the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada Act (the "Act"), assented to on June 14, 2001, being chapter 9 of the Statutes of Canada, 2001, hereby fixes June 21, 2002 as the day on which section 27 of the Canadian Payments Act and the heading before it, as enacted by section 239 of the Act, come into force.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Order fixes June 21, 2002 as the day on which section 27 of the Canadian Payments Act and the heading before it come into force. This new provision changes the fiscal year of the Canadian Payments Association to coincide with the calendar year.
