Certain Taxpayers Remission Order, 1997-3, p. 2649

Before the Schedule, insert the Order that was omitted from publication:

CERTAIN TAXPAYERS REMISSION ORDER, 1997-3

1. Remission is hereby granted to the taxpayers named in column I of an item of the schedule of the amount set out in column II of that item, which represents tax, including any interest payable thereon, under the Income Tax Act, in respect of the taxation year set out in column III of that item.

2. Remission is hereby granted of amounts payable by Julius Uzoaba under the Income Tax Act for or in respect of 1995, not exceeding $29,217.86 plus relevant interest, that would not be payable if each portion of a lump-sum received in 1995 as a result of a decision in respect of wages and the relevant interest for or in respect of a previous year had been received in that previous year, on condition that he forthwith file with the Minister a document, in a form under seal acceptable to the Minister, in which he undertakes to withdraw and not to institute or proceed with any relevant action, objection, appeal, application or other proceeding of any kind if there is a corresponding provincial remission and in which he agrees that, notwithstanding any such proceeding and any consequent assessment, subject to this remission, the federal taxes payable are to be computed on the basis that the said wages and related interest must be included in computing income for 1995.
